What The Corporate World Teaches About Leveling In WoW

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the Cataclysm and all the changes. The new quests are exciting and there’s a lot to explore. But I have to think about how exciting the new stuff will be the second and third time I level a new character.

That’s when you will feel like you are just grinding your way up the levels again. But don’t worry - you can still level a lot faster with my favorite mage leveling strategies!

The first step is to throw all the old talent builds overboard. With the new talent trees and mechanics you can’t use any of them to streamline your character. Unfortunately there are still thousands of websites on those old, worthless builds. You have to start to look for new ones.

Here’s my strategy: I go with a talent build that suits my unique style of playing instead of a one-size-fits-all build! There are a lot of high-efficiency builds available, but if you ask me they will drag you down if they don’t suit your playing style.

But my best strategy is this one: Get in the habit of batching. That’s a concept commonly known from the corporate world. Here’s one example: Instead of buying glyphs every now and then get them all at once. Or get all your new gear right now. Batch all these tasks and your inventory will be prepared perfectly in no time. You don’t need to visit the auction house again. Instead of travelling around your items will wait for you ready in your bags.

I recommend you to buy all the green gear you will need on your journey and sort them by levels. Buying blue items costs too much in my opinion. You will die less often if you get a lot of items with stamina on them.
