Mage Leveling Made Easy

Hi and welcome to this mage leveling guide. Do you want to know how to level your WoW mage faster and easier? Great! You've just found the right guide for you.

I know that leveling a character can be a pain. Especially if this is not your first toon and you already know Azeroth like the back of your hand. You know that you won't encounter anything new. Leveling becomes a job.

Let me help you to get it over with so you can explore the endgame content with your friends and guild mates again!

Here are my top tips for increasing your leveling speed:

First of all you should say ByeBye to grinding. Grinding is a thing of the past. The days of grinding are over. When World of Warcraft was released, grinding was a great way to gather massive amounts of experience, it was even faster than questing. But with all the expansions Blizzard has adjusted the experience mechanics. Questing now gives even more experience and is the most efficient way to level your character.

The second advice of my mage leveling guide is this one: Get a leveling talent build that really suits your playing style. I know that often we want to play with the most efficient build even if we don't like it. But how much time do you think you can save if you feel uncomfortable with the build and make a lot of mistakes?

If you like a smooth leveling experience, I recommend you to choose the Fire build. You might level a little bit slower than with a frost spec, but the Fire build doesn't require lots of concentration.

For the best xp/hour rate choose the Deep Frost talent spec. The Mage's AoE strategy is literally the fastest way to level your character and ding 80 as soon as possible.. Click here for a proven and effective Mage Frost build.

Stay away from grinding, choose the build that suits your playing style and you are good to go!

The Mage Leveling Guide To Level Faster And Easier

If you are looking for a way to increase your leveling speed and get over the boring part of leveling with your WoW Mage, you have come to the right place. This mage leveling guide will show you how to level your mage 1-80 in a fast and easy way.

Your first step is to choose a race that is perfect for leveling a twink. Gnomes for example have more mana and “Escape artist”. This skill will help you to escape in situations when other races would be immobilized, die and have to walk back to their corpse.

The next thing you absolutely need is a good leveling spec. My mage leveling guide recommends you to aim for a Frost leveling spec. Frost mages have one great advantage: They are masters of AoE damage.

Frost mages can easily freeze whole groups of mobs in one tight spot and then start bombing them. Image the situation: You mount up and ride around to get lots of mobs to attack you. The next step is to ride around until the mobs all gather in one tight area. Now it's easy to freeze them all with your Frost Nova. Blink away and use Blizzard and Cone of Cold to kill of all the mobs at once!

You can kill up to 12-15 mobs every time. Frost is powerful and very effective leveling spec that my mage leveling guide recommends.

After choosing a race and talent spec you need the right gear. Either buy green items with intelligence and stamina at the auction house or visit instances. Of course, the better equipment waits for you in the instances – it's also one of the few ways to get gear with spell damage on it – but you need a level 80 friend to pull you through.

But those problems with your gear will vanish as soon as you enter the outland. There are a lot of great items with crit strike chance and a lot of spell damage.

That’s the mage leveling guide for beginners. Have lots of fun leveling your Frost Mage!

Mage Leveling Guide – Yes Or No?

Today I hear a lot of talk that is going on about using - or not using - a leveling guide. Lots of player argue which one is the best mage leveling guide and if you should use one at all.

There are people who say that using a guide to play WoW would actually destroy the athmosphere. They say that by using a leveling guide addon you simply rush through the world, ignoring the story and quest descriptions and events.

Others say they leveled properly with their first character and don’t need to see every corner of the world all over again. They just want to get to the end game with a new alt. They don’t want to go through the frustrating process of leveling again and again.

I can understand both types of players and their opinions.

I guess WoW would become a really strange game if all the players would use a mage leveling guide to rush through the world to get to the end game content.

They would kind of act like robots, ignoring everyone and everything. Reminds me more of commuters on their way to work instead of computer players having fun.

But the fact that these add-ons aren’t banned by Blizzard shows that it’s not offensive to use them at all. In fact right now the game even rewards playing alone. There are few moments when you actually need to interact with other players.

Let's be honest. Would you rather want to quit WoW just because you are frustrated about the time it takes to level an alt? Or would you rather just get the leveling over with in the fastest and easiest way possible?

Of course, Blizzard doesn't want you to quit playing World of Warcraft - It's a win-win situation. If you keep on playing both you and Blizzard win. You can enjoy playing with your friends and guild mates and Blizzard can make some profits.

What I'm trying to say is... just enjoy playing WoW and don't let other people influence you or your opinion on using a mage leveling guide. As long as we all play by the rules, we’ll get to enjoy the game.

How To Level A Fire Mage – The Mage Leveling Guide

Before we dive in, let’s get one thing out of the way – the old Frost vs Fire debate. Which leveling spec is the best for you depends a lot on your unique playing style.

If focusing on a difficult but effective strategy if for you, then go for frost.

This mage leveling guide is for players that want to focus on the fire talent build.

Unsure which one you prefer? You can test them both and see which one works better for you, then stick to it.

With this out of the way, let’s dive into the talent build.

This is the order in which I recommend you to spend your talent points:

  • 5 Points in Improved Fireball
  • 5 Points in Ignite
  • 1 Point in Pyroblast
  • 3 Points in World in Flames
  • 2 Points in Burning Determination
  • 3 Points in Improved Scorch
  • 3 Points in Master of Elements
  • 3 Points in Critical Mass
  • 5 Points in Fire Power
  • 1 Point in Combustion
  • 3 Points in Pyromaniac
  • 1 Point in Blast Wave
  • 2 Points in Molten Fury
  • 3 Points in Empowered Fire
  • 1 Point in Dragons Breath
  • 3 Points in Hot Streak
  • 1 Point in Firestarter
  • 5 Points in Burnout
  • 1 Point in Living Bomb

With the fire tree maxed out, invest in some more minor important fire talents and then get some Arcane to improve your crit chances.

  • 3 Points in Incineration
  • 1 Point in Fire Starter
  • 2 Points in Arcane Subtlety
  • 3 Points in Arcane Focus
  • 5 Points in Arcane Concentration
  • 3 Points in Spell Impact
  • 3 Points in Student of the Mind

The fire mage is for players who like the straight-forward method more than complex strategies. It is a straight forward strategy that doesn't require much strategy.

Since a fire mage will not fight many mobs at the same time, he will get overwhelmed less often. This can indeed be helpful with mage leveling.

One more thing though:

Although you're a fire mage, you shoud still use Arcane or Frost spells in situations when it makes sense. I like to view spells as tools and if the opportunity arises, I often use Frost Nova on mobs or Blink away if I must.

For fast leveling I recommend the following strategy:

Mount up and pull 4-6 mobs then Frostnova them and get some distance with Blink. Then use all your AoE spells: Arcane Explosion, Blast Wave and Dragons Breath.

Why You Should Ding 80 With A Mage Leveling Guide Before The Cataclysm

While the Cataclysm finally comes closer, players from all over Azeroth are forming nostalig groups to visit all the memorable places that they love before the Cataclysm changes them forever. Now is the time to level your twinks up to lv 80 - then you can sit down and relax and enjoy all the places, instances and cities as we all know and love them.

Now, what should you do?

Use the remaining time to take advantage of the well-known quests or take some time to smell the flowers and don’t worry about what may come tomorrow.

You can do both if you find the right balance.

If your goal is to get your toons to level 80 before the landscape changes and your mage leveling guide becomes obsolete for a while, I urge you to hurry up and finish the job. After that you can sit down, relax and visit all the memorable places, NPCs and instances alone or with a group.

If your heart is in the game, use your time to join some nostalgia raids or visit cool instances with your guild mates and take memorable screen captures.

No one knows what the Cataclysm will be like.

This is the action plan that I suggest you to rush through:

#1 – Use a mage leveling guide to get the job done fast

Less time spend on leveling means more time to spend on experiencing the wonders of Azeroth one last time alone or with a nostalgic raid group.

#2 – Take lots of cool screen shots

Even if it’s just for you. Screen shots are a great way to remember all the events that you took part in. No matter if you want to have them for yourself or submit them to WoW sites on the net. I'm pretty sure WoW.com and co. will put up loads of galleries of pics like that.

#3 – Participate in a nostalgic raid group

Self explanatory. This is just a great thing. Participate as long as it lasts.

I hope you enjoyed this article, but now it’s time to take some action. Grab yourself a mage leveling guide and get into action before it’s too late.

The Best Way To Level Your Mage? The Mage Leveling Guide

Hi and welcome to this mage leveling guide. Do you want to know the fastest way to ding 80 with your mage as fast as possible? Great! I'm going to show you the way to fast leveling in my guide.

Leveling an alt is boring and frustrating. It got a little easier with the 3.3 patch but it’s still a pain in the ass.

Let's dive into the problem: What's the reason that leveling is still so frustrating? The answer is…

You're overwhelmed by a big information overload!

World of Warcraft offers dozens of ways to level your character: Grinding, doing quests, play alone or in a party and of course visiting instances with your friends. Now, what is the fastest way to lvl up?

Instances?

Visiting instances is fun. Nowadays it's easy to find a party with the Dungeon Finder so you can visit every instance in the game without waiting a long time. Or you just ask your guild mates to go with you.

But unfortunately instances don't give you much xp/hour! We all know that dungeon quests and mobs give more xp that normal mobs and quests. But the amount of time it takes to complete them is even bigger. If you want to visit instances to level up, you are going to waste hours of your time.

Then Perhaps Leveling in a Group?

I love teaming up with my close friends and level characters together. But be warned: groups are seldom needed to solve quests and you are going to waste experience. Before the Cataclysm hits, leveling in a party is not an option to get the max xp/hour.

Leveling on your own?

If you want to get the max xp/hour and level 1-80 really fast, doing quests on your own is the way to go! Still, many inexperienced players mess it up and waste days of their time on leveling. But why? They know where to find the quest mobs and NPCs since 3.3, right?

But unfortunately they forget about the thing that is most important: To get the questing path dialed.

Without an in-game mage leveling guide almost every player will mess up the questing path. They'll stumble back and forth and complete quests in a very, very inefficient way. And they'll waste time on junk quests that hardly give any xp.

If you want to level as fast as possible, an in-game mage leveling guide add-on can help you to eliminate all this frustration and ding 80 in less than 7 days played time.

Fire Mage Leveling Guide For Glyphs

There are many Glyphs, major and minor ones, and it can be difficult to figure out which ones are most efficient for you. I've put together this quick overview about the most effective glyphs for fire mages to help you tweaking your character.

Since you’re still at the stage of choosing the right glyphs for your fire mage, I’ll make the assumption that you’re at the leveling phase of the game.

My recommended Glyphs will help you with mage leveling.

Okay, let’s get cracking.

When you hit level 15 and 30, your first two slots for major glyphs will be unlocked. The third and last major slot is unlocked at level 80, and at that point you will have an idea about the best Glyphs already.

Now that you know when your slots are unlocked, let's take a look at the Glyphs themselves:

Major Glyph: Fireball – Lv 15

Increases the critical strike chance of Fireball by 5%, but removes the damage over time effect.

Major Glyph: Scorch - Lv 20

Increases the damage of your Scorch spell by 20%

Major Glyph: Living Bomb - Lv 60

The periodic damage from your Living Bomb can now be critical strikes.

Major Glyhp: Molten Armor – Lv 62

Your Molten Armor spell grants an additional 20% of your spirit as critical strike rating.

Minor Glyph: Arcane Intellect – Lv 15

Reduces the mana cost of your Arcane Intellect and Arcane Brilliance spells by 50%

Minor Glyph: Slow Fall – Lv 15

Your Slow Fall spell no longer requires a reagent.

Here’s the order in which you should pick your glyphs for your fire mage:

At level 15, grab Fireball. All other glyphs are ineffective. The higher crit. rating will help you to nuke down your foes faster. This will give you a slight boost in leveling speed, too.

When you get to lv 30, grab Scorch as your second major Glyph.

Until you hit level 60, you don't have to thing about Glyphs anymore. At this point Living Boms and Molten Armor becom available - two great Glyphs for you.

They are both viable, you should pick the one that suits your playing style. By now you should have developed your own style, so go with your gut feeling.

If you want to tweak things even further, read a more detailed mage leveling guide.

Here's another advice for you:

Molten Armor increases your overall critical hit rating while the other glyphs only affect a single spell each. Molten Armor gives you higher leverage that’s why I usually recommend it for fast leveling, but you can as easily play a good game without it.

Mage Leveling – What’s The Easiest Way To Level Your WoW Mage 1 To 80?

You want to level your WoW mage to level 80 as fast as possible? Read this mage leveling guide to find out what really matters!

I will not talk about talent build, glyphs, gear or stats here… they don’t matter at all if you don’t know which is the fastest way to level. I'm talking about the difference between grouping, grinding and soloing. If you choose the wrong approach you will waste hours, regardless of how fine-tuned your talent build is.

The 4 Ways of Mage Leveling

First of all, I want to talk about grinding. Grinding will waste your time, period. “But many players are grinding. They’re saying that’s the fastest way to level!” you hear people saying? That's wrong.

In the past, grinding was a viable way to level your character, but those days are gone. And you should feel thankful for this. Killing the exact same mob thousands of times? I'll pass! Today, there are more efficient ways to ding 80.

Which leads me to “playing in a party and visiting instances”. You might have friends you want to level together with and that's great! But counting the numbers it’s not nearly as efficient as questing solo.

You can visit instances to loot the items and equip your mage, but while you’re in an instance you will complete relatively few quests and quests are the things that give you the most exp.

Don’t get me wrong – playing with your friends is great! Don't force trying to find a group because you think it might save you some time.

The third – and more effective – way is questing on your own without a mage leveling addon. Why do I emphasize “without an addon”? This is very important when it comes to leveling speed.

Questing is the most effective way to level 1-80, but with all the areas and quests, players often get confused. In the end they waste hours of their time stumbling through the world. It can be frustrating to invest your time and effort into completing a quest just to find out that it’s a junk-quest that hardly gives you any gold or experience.

The forth and – in my opinion – most efficient way to ding 80 is questing with an in-game mage leveling addon.

In case you haven't heard about in-game guides: They are addons that tell you what to do next. It’s like having a blueprint that guides you through the levels in the fastest possible way and makes mage leveling easy and fun.

Mage Leveling Guide To Powerlevel 1-80 Fast

Are you tired of frustrating leveling? In this blog post you will discover what’s holding you back and what to do about it.

If you’re like me, you’ve tried out your share of different talent builds, glyphs and equipment, trying to level just a little bit faster.

A good talent build can give you a nice boost if you master it, but you should think of it more as tweaking the engine of a car.

Tuning a tiny engine will give you only tiny rewards but will never turn it into a powerhouse.

Why is that?

The reason is that tweaking uses your potential... so there has to be potential in the first place.

On the other hand, tuning a strong but poorly used engine will get you amazing results.

So, think of your ability to level quickly as an engine.

The next question is, what is this strong engine that I'm talking about and how can you get it?

WoW was designed by Blizzard to be most effective when you follow all the quest lines and do all the adventures. The reason why many players get frustrated with this and switch to silly tactics such as grinding for xp, is because they take on junk quests.

Junk Quests take a long time to complete and in the end you get only little experience or gold.

If you ever do more than one of them in a row, I promise you you'll be grinding your teeth. And before you know it, you find yourself looking for a good mage guide online.

Now, what's the alternative?

There is a good way to make sure you avoid junk quests. Once you get that dialed, questing becomes very easy and fast. As fast as leveling can get, of course.

Using an in-game mage leveling guide removes junk quests and other distractions and lets you focus on the task at hand.

Fast leveling will allow you to catch up with your friends and guild-mates and allows you to enjoy the end came content.

Mage Grinding Guide – How To Kill A Dozen Mobs At Once

Grinding is a great way to farm gold, items and reputation. If you want to know, how to use your mage to grind as fast as possible, this mage grinding guide is the right place to start.

But first of all, I want to throw in one quick advice: Notice how I didn’t say that grinding is good for farming exp? The reason is that I do not recommend grinding to level 1-80. Questing is much better in that aspect.

However, if you want to level your mage by grinding, my mage grinding guide shows you the best and fastest way to do it ;)

Mage Grinding Talent Build: The Frost Spec

There are two ways to grind – one way is killing one mob after another. And there's a better way: Kill off 10+ mobs at once!

Sounds interesting? Then I suggest you to get a frost talent spec as soon as possible. It’s the one and only mage build to take on hordes of mobs simultaneous.

Frost specs focus entirely on freezing mobs, AoE spells and survivability. Make sure to aim for a deep frost build (0/0/71) to get all the great talents.

And then you will want to support your abilities with the best Glyphs!

The next step is to look at the grinding strategy itself: Grinding with the frost build is all about using AoE spells like Frost Nova, Blizzard and Cone of Cold to kill as many mobs simultaneous as possible.

You have to pull them, gather them on one spot and hit them all at once with the power of your spells.

This way will will be able to farm gold, reputation and items much faster. If you want to get to level 80 ASAP, questing is much faster and much more fun.

But of course there's a trick - use the tactic from this mage grinding guide on quest mobs to complete every quest in no time!

I hope you enjoyed my mage grinding guide – Have fun farming!
